Everything You Need To Know About Staking

Introducing staking on Loadout
$LOAD + SOL staking opens October 27 at 18:00 UTC.
We’re putting 100 million $LOAD behind staking. If you’re backing Loadout, you should be earning for it.
Here’s how it works.
Why staking matters
When you stake $LOAD + SOL, you add liquidity to the pool. Deeper liquidity means better execution and less slippage, especially on bigger trades. Trading fees from these pools help fund games and Loadout’s continued growth.
So your stake does more than earn rewards. It makes the market better for everyone trading on Loadout.
Lock your tokens and that liquidity sticks around for longer. We reward that commitment with a higher weighting in the rewards pool, up to 2x.
Same idea for games. Back a game you believe in, help deepen its liquidity and earn rewards in its token.
What’s opening
- $LOAD + SOL: 80 million $LOAD. Opens October 27 at 18:00 UTC.
- Single $LOAD: 20 million $LOAD. Planned for the next upgrade, with a 30-day minimum lock.
- Game token + SOL: curated launches can opt in when they create their project. Once an opted-in game graduates, its pool opens automatically. Rewards start about an hour after that.
Together, that’s the full 100 million $LOAD staking allocation.

Before you stake
Head to Loadout staking and connect your Solana wallet.
For $LOAD + SOL, you’ll need both $LOAD and SOL. For a game pool, you’ll need the game’s token and SOL. Enter either amount and the app works out how much of the other you need. Keep some SOL aside for fees.
Staking hub is where you find pools. My stakes is where you track your deposits, rewards and unlock dates. All dates shown are UTC.
Always use the official site. Your recovery phrase and private key stay with you.
Staking $LOAD
The $LOAD + SOL pool pays out its 80 million $LOAD over two years. Emissions start at their highest and drop by 3% every 14 days.
Stake early and you get the biggest emissions.
Your share depends on three things: how much you stake, your lock multiplier and the total weighting of everyone else in the pool.
Planning to hold? Lock it and get more weight.
| Commitment | Reward multiplier |
|---|---|
| Flexible | 1x |
| 30 days | 1.1x |
| 90 days | 1.25x |
| 180 days | 1.5x |
| 365 days | 2x |
At 2x, your deposit counts twice as much as the same deposit on flexible when the pool splits its rewards. The multiplier boosts your weighting. Your actual return still depends on the pool.
Flexible means you can withdraw whenever you want. Locked means you’re in until the unlock date.
Locked deposits have no early exit.

How to stake
- Choose $LOAD + SOL. Open Staking hub and select the pool.
- Enter your amount. Enter $LOAD or SOL and check the matching amount. The percentage buttons help you size your deposit while leaving SOL for fees.
- Choose your commitment. Flexible, or a lock period for a higher multiplier.
- Review your stake. Check your amounts, lock, multiplier, estimated rewards and unlock date.
- Confirm in your wallet. Complete the transactions shown, then open My stakes to see your position. Your first stake may include an account setup transaction before the deposit.
You earn $LOAD rewards while your liquidity helps people trade. Fees from that liquidity help fund games and Loadout, with a small portion reinvested into the pool. Your position shares in that reinvestment.
The upcoming single $LOAD pool has its own 20 million $LOAD allocation, also paid out over two years with emissions dropping 3% every 14 days.
Staking game tokens
Game staking lets you take a more active role in the games you’re backing. You supply the game’s token and SOL, help improve its trading liquidity and earn from the allocation the studio has set aside for stakers.
Those reward tokens are reserved for the people staking.
Curated projects opt in when they’re created, and their pools open automatically after graduation. Every game pool follows the same template. We’ll use SOUL as an example.
| Commitment | Reward multiplier |
|---|---|
| Flexible | 1x |
| 14 days | 1.1x |
| 30 days | 1.25x |
| 90 days | 1.5x |
| 180 days | 2x |
Game pools hit the max 2x at 180 days. Flexible is there too if you want to keep the option to withdraw.

How to stake game tokens
- Find your game. Open Staking hub and choose an available game pool. For SOUL, select SOUL + SOL.
- Enter your amount. Enter the game token or SOL amount, then check the matching amount.
- Choose your commitment. Flexible, or a lock period.
- Review and confirm. Check both amounts, your multiplier and the unlock date. Confirm in your wallet, then find your position in My stakes.
Same rule as $LOAD: locked game deposits stay locked until their unlock date. No early exit.
Game rewards start about an hour after the pool opens, then run for one year, with emissions dropping 3% every week. Again, the biggest emissions are at the start.
Rewards come from the studio’s staking allocation and are paid in that game’s token. A SOUL pool pays SOUL.
We may also add $LOAD rewards to selected game pools.
Claiming your rewards
You can claim rewards while your deposit stays staked, even during a lock.
Open My stakes, select Claim rewards, then pick an individual reward or Claim all and confirm in your wallet. What happens next depends on the token.

$LOAD rewards earn more $LOAD
Claimed $LOAD is automatically restaked at 2x with a 365-day base lock. Once single $LOAD staking opens, those restaked rewards start earning rewards of their own.
Rewards on your rewards.
Until single $LOAD staking opens, claimed $LOAD stays locked without earning extra rewards.
We group unlocks weekly, so the actual lock runs between 365 and 372 days from claiming. Your exact unlock date shows in My stakes, and claims with the same date may show as one stake.
Once the lock ends, you can withdraw that $LOAD to your wallet.
Game rewards give you a choice
Claimed game tokens go into a separate reward lock with a 30-day base. Because claims share unlock dates, the full wait can be up to 33 days and 18 hours. Go by the exact date in My stakes.
Wait it out and you withdraw the full amount.
Or withdraw early and give up a portion. That portion can be up to the entire reward at the start, drops to about half with 15 days left, and hits zero at the unlock time.
Whatever gets given up goes back to the people still staking.
Leave early and you’re topping up everyone who stayed.
To withdraw, open the locked rewards section in My stakes. Choose Withdraw to wallet once the lock ends, or Withdraw early to see what you’ll get and what you’ll give up before confirming.
Your deposit and your claimed rewards have separate locks. Withdrawing your game token + SOL deposit leaves any existing reward locks in place.
When your lock ends
When a lock ends, your deposit stays staked and its multiplier drops back to 1x. From there you’ve got three options:
- Stay flexible and keep earning at 1x for the rest of the campaign.
- Lock again to restore a higher multiplier. Choose a term, review your new multiplier and unlock date, and the new lock starts when you confirm.
- Withdraw your deposit.

Withdrawing a flexible deposit: open My stakes, select your position and choose Withdraw, or use the Withdraw tab in the side panel. Pick the percentage, review the token amounts and confirm in your wallet.
Withdrawing a locked position: once the unlock time arrives, select the position and withdraw it in full. This applies to locked $LOAD + SOL deposits, game token + SOL deposits and restaked $LOAD.
After withdrawing, check My stakes for any unclaimed rewards. Rewards you’ve already claimed keep their own unlock dates.
Understand your liquidity position
When you stake a token alongside SOL, your deposit becomes part of a trading pool. As people trade, the balance between the two assets changes. The amounts you withdraw can differ from the amounts you deposited.
If $LOAD rises relative to SOL, your position will generally hold less $LOAD and more SOL. If $LOAD falls relative to SOL, it will generally hold more $LOAD and less SOL. The same applies to game token pools.
This can leave your position worth less than if you’d just held both assets separately. That’s called impermanent loss. Staking rewards and reinvested fees count towards your overall result, but there’s no guarantee they’ll cover the difference.
Pairing a token with SOL also gives you different exposure from holding that token alone. If $LOAD falls relative to SOL, the SOL side can cushion the drop compared with an all-$LOAD position. Your position can still lose value.
A few things worth knowing
Why can the opening APR be so high?
At the start, fewer deposits may be sharing the pool’s emissions. That gives early stakers a bigger share and a high displayed APR. As more people stake, rewards get spread across a larger total weighting. Token prices and the declining emissions also move the number. The displayed APR changes with all of that.
Do I need to wait for each reward period to claim?
No. Rewards build up throughout the campaign. The weekly or fortnightly reductions change the emission rate, and you can claim any time in between.
What if a deposit or withdrawal isn’t going through?
Check the pool is open, your wallet holds both required assets and you’ve got SOL for fees. If a transaction fails, check its status before retrying. If Meteora temporarily disables the underlying pool, liquidity withdrawals come back when the pool resumes.
What if my balance hasn’t updated?
Check you’re on the same wallet and the transaction succeeded, then give the page time to refresh. For help, use the official support links on Loadout and include your public wallet address and transaction signature so the team can find it.
